The latest findings from a survey conducted on HIV/AIDS indicate that the Central Region has the highest prevalence rate at 10%.

This is followed by Mid-Northern region with 8.3% Mid Western, South Western, with the lowest number of cases in Mid-Eastern Uganda at 4%.

This is according to the findings from the latest HIV/AIDS Indicators Survey released by the ministry of health today.

Health Minister Christine Ondoa blames the increase in infections in the Central region on the high population and big number of sexual workers.

Ondoa says engagement in risky behaviors is higher in the region, increasing chances of spreading the virus.

She says the ministry will now focus on addressing the key drivers of the HIV epidemic to reverse the trend;
