The scope of investigations in the case of former Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) commander, Mr. Dominic Ongwen at The Hague has been widened.

This was after the International Criminal Court added 60 charges to the initial 7 that were approved.

Addressing Soroti residents, Phakiso Mochochoko, the head of jurisdiction and complementarity division, said the ICC carefully came up with 60 more charges after it amended the charge sheet.

This, he says follows the recently investigated atrocities said to have been committed by Dominic Ongwen personally.

Meanwhile, Teso leaders led by Mr.David Oumo demanded to know why atrocities committed in the region were not included on the charge sheet, but Mochochoko challenged them to produce evidence to back their claims.

He says the ICC Chief prosecutor, Ms Fatou Bensouda has scheduled the proceedings of Mr. Ongwen’s case to start on January 21st 2016 with the hope that it shall be relayed live from The Hague so that victims are able to follow.
