The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura has given five million shillings to the family of the bodaboda cyclist who was knocked dead by a speeding police vehicle at Kilembe stage in Kasese municipality.

Gen. Kayihura contributed the money at the burial of 23 year old Kule Joshua Kisundi, at his home in Nyakakindo Kyarumba village.

Speaking on behalf of the inspector general of police, SP Dennis Namuwoza, the Rwenzori regional police commander said the IGP regretted the incident and pledged support to the family of the deceased.

He asked the family to provide one person who will witness as the driver who allegedly knocked the cyclist is being charged in courts of law.

The deceased is survived with one wife and four children.
