The Internal Affairs minister Gen. Aronda Nyakayirima is today expected to meet journalists to discuss the recent police brutality on Journalists.

Last month, the journalists petitioned the minister following their failure to meet the IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura after an attack on their colleagues; Andrew Lwanga and Joseph Ssetimba by the DPC of Old Kampala Joram Mwesigye.

The National coordinator of the Human Rights Network for Journalists Robert Ssempala says they want to bring to the attention of the minister the crimes committed by individual police officers against journalists while carrying out their duties.

Ssempala says he is hopeful that the meeting that is expected to kick off at 2:00pm will yield some positive results.
