The Kabaka of Buganda has spoken out on the group of people that attacked his kingdom this week, threatening to take over.

The group stormed Mengo this week, claiming that Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi is not an authentic king.

Addressing his subjects at Nakasero Market today, Kabaka Mutebi says such people are enemies of the kingdom who have well known sponsors.

Mutebi appealed to his subjects to remain united, adding that the kingdom will not be deterred by its opponents.

Referring to the tough economic times the country is facing, Kabaka Mutebi said he understood the challenges the people are facing and appealed to them to continue working hard.

He also renewed his appeal to the government to release kingdom properties, which Buganda has been demanding for years.

Meanwhile, business came to a standstill as hundreds turned up to receive the Kabaka.

Traffic came to a standstill in downtown Kampala and most of the shops were closed during the visit.
