Kampala City Traders’ Association (KACITA) has appealed to security agencies to embrace a swift response plan in emergency situations affecting the business community.

The call comes days after President Museveni addressed the nation on the state of security in the country.

The business community has in the recent past been affected by various criminal acts including attacks on Mobile Money agents that have in some cases led to loss of lives.

Speaking to KFM, Thaddeus Musoke, the KACITA Chairperson, called for a more swift security response to distress calls by members of the business community.

“So we appeal to the security forces, let them improve their response towards those incidences. At times they take so long to come, so the moment their response improves, I think we will be in a safer environment,” Musoke said.

Musoke also urges the business community to exercise vigilance and cooperate with security agencies to ensure safety of both their businesses and lives.
