The speaker of parliament Hon Rebecca Kadaga has assured the country that parliament given its mandate will ensure that it forwards all the necessary candidates required to represent the country in the East African Legislative assembly.

Speaking during her meeting with the Police Boss Gen Kale Kayihura and Police Directors in Nakuru, Kadaga says the East African Co-operation requires parliament to ensure that they elect all cadnidates from different political parties and shades of opinion and special interest groups Women, Youths, Persons with Disabilities.

Only 9 candidates are supposed to be forwarded to EALA but as we talk right now, FDC has forwarded 2 candidates, DP one, UPC one, NRM is expected to forward 6 making it 10 hence parliament will have to select the 9 out of 10 candidates.

However, Parliament is yet to fix dates for the EALA elections.
