By Moses Kyeyune.

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has maintained her position to have Bugweri County MP Abdu Katuntu head COSASE until the tail end of the committee probe into the central bank.

This comes after a wide spate of tension about the proposed changes of the committee leadership, with Kteh leader of opposition Betty Aol rejecting all proposals to extend the tenure.

Opposition’s Forum for Democratic Change has since appointed Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa to replace Katuntu.

As a quick intervention the leader of Opposition advised the Speaker to form a select committee, rather than extending the Committee’s term of office.

The speaker however says that her position stands and no one can alter it.
