Katikiro calls for independence of the media

Reporter | June 10, 2014

The Katikiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga is calling for independence of the media in Uganda while disseminating information.

Mayiga says the independence of the media is the basis of the truthfulness of the stories given to the audience.

He says it is only a vibrant media that can promote justice and good governance in the country.

Mayiga had visited MPL premises here in Namuwongo as part of his fundraising drive for the construction of Masengere Plaza where over 7m shillings has been collected.

Earlier, the chairman board of directors, Simon Kagugube pledged commitment to supporting cultural institutions in the country.
