The former spokesperson of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Nsereko Mutumba has died.

Reports indicate that he passed on this morning at Lubaga Hospital.

We are however yet to get details concerning the cause of his death.

At the time of his death, Mutumba was the Kayuga Resident District Commissioner, a position he had held since March 2022.

Tribute messages have started flowing in from various people among them the deputy presidential press secretary Faruk Kirunda who has described his death as a big blow not just to the Muslim fraternity but the entire country.

He says Mutumba was a respected opinion leader and worked for peace, unity and development.

He was last seen in public during Idd celebrations at Nakivubo Blue Primary school.
