Kampala Capital City Authority has suspended concerts and events at various venues.

The authority cites noncompliance to the set standards by the event organizers and proprietors of public venues.

The authority’s deputy spokesperson Robert Kalumba says the affected areas include Lugogo Cricket Oval which lacks sanitation facilities and has no emergency management plan.

The others are Equatorial Mall Parking, Natete Mall parking, and Lake Victoria Suites among others which have no disaster management plans.

However Musa Kavuma, one of the event organizers has condemned the move saying it is meant to drive them out of business.
