The royal family of the Rwenzururu Kingdom has met president Museveni to discuss the fate of the jailed cultural leader Charles Wesley Mumbere.

The kingdom spokesperson Clarence Bwambale has confirmed the that meeting held yesterday at State House Entebbe discussed a number of issues relating to the Kasese clashes that left over 100 people dead in November last year.

Without divulging details of the discussions, Bwambale says among those in attendance was the queen mother Christine Biira and the king’s brother William Kibazanga.

The Omusinga together with 150 of his royal guards are currently on remand at various prisons on charges of treason, murder, terrorism and aggravated robbery, crimes allegedly committed in Kasese district late last year.
