Kiprotich wins USPA award

Athlete Steven Kiprotich has won the Uganda Sports Press Association for the month of February beating competition from weight lifter Ismail Katamba.

At the USPA monthly meeting at Oasis restaurant in Lugogo, Kiprotich collected 405 points compared to Katamba’s 400.

Kiprotich won a Bronze medal at the Tokyo marathon last month while Katamba achieved the same feat at the Islamic weight lifting games in Saudi Arabia.

Others who received recognition were athletes Annet Negesa and Moses Kipsiro, Chess player Harold Wanyama for winning the Mulago open.

Badminton players, Shamim Bangi and Margaret Nakabirwa together with rally driver Jas Mangat who won the Mbarara Rally received credit.
