By Damali Mukhaye.

Teaching and non-reaching staff in public universities have unanimously agreed to lay down their tools over government’s failure to allocate money for their salary enhancement in the 2018/2019 budget.

The decision was reached today during a meeting which was attended by different staff associations from public universities across the country at Makerere University.

According to the public universities academic staff association chairperson, Dr Grace Lubaale, they want government to fulfil its 138 billion shillings promise for salary enhancement.

Dr Lubaale has announced that the strike will consequently kick off on 3rd August 2018 before the new academic year
