The vice chancellor of Makerere University prof Dumba Ssentamu has said that lecturers at all colleges within the university have resumed normally despite the low turn up of students.

The university was re-opened on Monday, the 2rd of January after its closure for two months by president Museveni who cited protection of persons and properties.

However, the university registered a low turn up of students on Monday where students were supposed to resume classes immediately

However, speaking to KFM, Prof Dumba said normal lectures at the university have resumed asserting that whether all students have all reported or not, lectures are to continue.

He also explained that the program which was issued by management on how the semester will be run will not change despite the failure by all students to turn up in the first week.

According to the program, students are to study for 4 weeks, begin exams on 30th of January, take off a residential holiday of one week, and resume for the second semester on the 26th of February, while the graduation is slated to take place on the 21st to 24th of January.
