Four children have been struck by lightning in Mayuge district.

The tragedy has occurred at Bukasero village in Bukatube sub-county in Mayuge district and the affected children have been rushed to Bukasero health centre in critical condition.

Their father John Baturi says the children were playing in his compound from where they were all struck.

The affected include 8 year old Sharon, 6-year old Reagan, Jovia who is 3 years old and one year old Prossy.

Baturi says the lightning struck out of the blue with no sign of rainfall.

This is the 5th time lightening has struck areas of Busoga region within a period of one week, leaving 3 dead and several nursing injuries.

Last week, lighting claimed lives of 7 pupils in Bwuikwe and Kamwenge districts.

3 other people were killed on Saturday while at a funeral in Alebtong district while 15 were left in critical condition.
