Lukwago case flops

Reporter | March 5, 2015

Lukwgao sad

Hearing of the case in which city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is fighting to reclaim office has flopped.

His lawyers led by Medard Lubega Segona received an abrupt letter date 3rd March indicating that one of the judges was not available.

Segona says this is a gimmick by government to derail the process of having the mayor back in office.

The lord mayor went to the Court of Appeal to challenge the decision by a single judge kicking him out of office.

In December 2013, then acting Chief Justice Steven Kavuma threw Lukwago out of City Hall three hours after he had been reinstated to office by High Court Judge Lydia Mugambe.
