A man in Mbale district has been arrested by police for allegedly trying to sabotage the Busoga royal wedding on social media.

The suspect is said to have called the father of Jovia Mutesi, the bride-to-be, demanding for Shs200 million to conceal information that he said could potentially stop the November 18 royal wedding.

He reportedly claimed to have information indicating that Stanley Bayole was not Mutesi’s biological father.

Police spokesperson, Mr Fred Enanga has confirmed that the suspect has been charged with attempted extortion but released on police bond.

The Busoga Royal wedding between the Kyabazinga Gabula Nadiope IV and Jovia Mutesi is set for this Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Bugembe Cathedral in Jinja city.
