A 32 year old man has been charged and sent on remand at Luzira prison for engaging in broadcasting business without a license from the Uganda Communications Communication.

Gerald Ssemwanga, a resident of Mutundwe was charged before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate James Eryemye Mawanda who sent him on remand after he denied the offences of installing and operating a Radio Broadcasting apparatus without a license.

The state prosecutor Abdul Salaam Waiswa informed court that since investigations into the matter are complete they are ready for the hearing.

Prosecution alleges that in the month of March 2017 Ssemwanga and others still at large at Kabawo zone in Kampala District without a broadcasting license issued by UCC were found broadcasting illegally.

The suspect returns to court on May 25th 2017 for hearing of the case.
