By Benjamin Jumbe:

The ministry of education and sports has reechoed its warning against corporal punishment of children in school.

Although the practice was banned some years ago, some teachers in some schools have been reported to be subjecting their pupils to corporal punishments which include caning.

Now the ministry’s permanent secretary Alex Kakooza says, the ban still stands advising teachers to use other means to discipline the pupils.

He says teachers should instead counsel the children or even withdraw rewards among other measures
