Ministry of tourism wildlife and Antiquities is to focus on branding this year.

This has been revealed by the ministry’s permanent secretary Doreen Katusiime at a time the tourism sector is recovering from effects of COVID 19.

Speaking to KFM, the PS Katusiime said the country has for a long time lagged behind in the issue of marketing and branding however giving assurance that this is to be worked on this year with a consultant already procured.

She is hopeful that with this development, destination Uganda will attract more visitors as it struggles to recover from the COVID 19 effects

While government had banked on the MAMA awards that were slated to be held in Kampala as an event to further enhance the country’s visibility and raise the country’s profile, this was postponed.
