The ministry of Health has noted an increase in the daily number of COVID-19 cases compared to the stable trends observed since January 2022.

In a tweet last night, the health minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng says the increase is similar to the rise in covid19 cases faced in June 2021 when the Delta variant was prevalent.

She has however given assurance that the government is prepared to respond incase of a surge.

She adds that they will continue to monitor the situation further revealing that the government is not about to impose travel restrictions and a lockdown.

Aceng has meanwhile asked Ugandans to get vaccinated, wear the masks and continue to follow all standard operating procedures. (SoPs) in place like washing hands, using sanitizers among others to keep safe.
