The Financial Intelligence Authority says corruption occurring in the private sector is more than that in public offices, which is contrary to what the public perceives, about the corruption trend in the country.

The Executive Director of the Financial Intelligence Authority, Sydney Asubo says the money obtained through corruption is being used in money laundering.

He says, the people engaging in acts of corruption among others, use the proceeds to acquire assets within the country and they no longer have fear, since they are sure of buying themselves out when they come to be known.
