evictions latest

Kyadondo East MP Ibrahim Ssemuju Nganda has described as impunity the continued eviction exercise being conducted by KCCA.

This follows an early morning eviction exercise that has left homeless hundreds of railway land squatters in areas of Banda.

He has blamed KCCA for going against the court order that was recently issued to halt the eviction, adding that the Authority should stop contravening the law.

Earlier, the KCCA spokesperson Peter Kawuju told KFM that they were ready to obey the court order though it was bound to affect their operations.

Hearing of the petition filed by the alleged railway reserve encroachers challenging their eviction is set to kick off at the High Court tomorrow.
