Motivated teachers can contribute to improved learners’ performance

In our continued coverage and assessment of the status of Uganda’s education sector, this morning we look at how a motivated staff can contribute to improved learners’ performance.

One or the issues highlighted by a recent report by Twaweza was that children were not learning as much as they should due to lack of teacher motivation.

To address this, Ahmed Kanatera the Head teacher of Nateete Muslim Primary School is working with the parents to not only motivate teachers through enhanced pay and supplementing the school feeding program.
KFM’s Ali Mivule visited the school and now reports.
