The Parliamentary Forum on Constitutional Supremacy is demanding an apology from the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga for inviting strangers in parliament last week.
This follows the suspension of 24 opposition legislators amid chaos that ensued before Igara West Member of Parliament Raphael Magyezi was granted leave to table a motion for a private member’s bill on age limit.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Aswa County Member of Parliament also the forum chairman Reagan Okumu said allowing security operatives into parliament undermined the sovereignty of the legislative arm of government.
The Speaker has however vowed to defend what she calls sanity in parliament, describing the behavior of members as unbecoming.
On Wednesday last week, parliament turned into a battle field after the Speaker ordered security operatives to throw out 24 opposition members who had been suspended for alleged breach of parliamentary rules of procedure.
The three-sitting suspension ends on Wednesday and the legilators will be expected back in the House on Thursday this week.
