Members of parliament are asking government to urgently address the issue of salary delays for all public servants.

Kiboga East MP, James Kiwalabye says the strikes by KCCA health workers are a sign of a failing administration in government.

Kiwalabye says the matter has been recurrent and needs to be urgently addressed to avoid a lapse in service delivery.

This comes after teachers working in KCCA-run schools gave the authority three days to clear their salary arrears or they declare a strike.

This was resolved at a meeting held between KCCA officials and the leadership of the Uganda National teachers’ Union.

The teachers say they have not been paid for the last three months and no explanation has been given to them.

This comes just a day after medical workers in all KCCA health facilities laid down their tools over delayed pay.

We spoke to the authority spokesperson Peter Kawuju shortly after the meeting
