Makerere University has dismissed 15 students who forged diploma academic transcripts to gain admission to the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Pharmacy.

Those who were dismissed include 13 first-year Medicine students and 2 pharmacy students all from the college of health sciences.

On the 9th of march, the academic registrar, Alfred Masikye Namoah, wrote letters to each of the those students inviting them to appear before the ad hoc committee in the Senate building to defend themselves before the university could take a decision.

Only 11 students appeared before the committee but their defense was so shallow and a committee on Wednesday last week decided to dismiss the students from the university.

The Deputy Vice chancellor, Finance and administration Prof Barnabus Nawangwe confirmed the dismissal arguing that the university does not admit students with forged documents.
