Makerere University lecturers are at it again.

They have given government up to the end of July to have their salaries increased.

Addressing a press conference this morning, Makerere University Academic Staff Association chairman, Dr Mohammed Kiggundu said that the increment has been long overdue after a recommendation by the Francis Omaswa commission to have it implemented.

The commission recommended that professors be paid Shs. 17.5 million and Shs.15million to lecturers who at the moment earn two million shillings per month.

The dons are however silent on what happens after the ultimatum they have issued.
