By Damali Mukhaye:

Atleast four students of Makerere University have been shot and injured and several others arrested over protests against the lifting of the age limit.

One of them has been identified as Denis Emojong, a Second Year Student who was hit by a rubber bullet near University Hall as students protested a planned move by members of the ruling NRM to table a bill to lift the presidential age limits.

According to the Guild Information Minister, Sylvester Sabit, two students are said to have been shot during the scuffle while the other two were reportedly battered by military police.

However, the head of security at Makerere Jackson Muchunguzi says the people who were affected in the scuffle are not students but they just joined the strike to disrupt peace.
