Workers of Multiplex Uganda Limited have today laid down their tools, demanding for a pay rise.

Multiplex Uganda is the body charged with managing street parking in the city.

The employees are currently gathered at the Railway Square grounds along Jinja road.

The workers want their salaries reviewed given the high cost of living and also accuse the management of the company of not remitting their NSSF contributions despite deducting the same from their pay.

The workers say they are demanding for NSSF arrears of up to two years.

They say they earn up to Shs 5,500 each day, which they want reviewed.

The Multiplex workers say they will not be returning to work unless their issues are addressed.

The management of the company is reportedly meeting the workers with a view of having their grievances addressed.
