The National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) party, has joined voices that are opposed to what they have termed as government’s discriminatory bailout policy.

This is after Cabinet approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with businessman Patrick Bitature involving Shs240 bilion and the takeover of his Electromax Power Plant.

NEED spokesperson, Mr Moses Matovu says the policy should apply to all Ugandans in need.

Yesterday, Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Muhammad Nsereko asked the government to bail out 3000 Makerere University students who are struggling to pay their tuition fees, accusing the state of reserving financial bailouts to only struggling businesses.
