Newly Weds Perish In Kyegegwa Accident

A newly -wed couple is among the three who have perished in a road accident along Fort Portal-Kampala road early on Tuesday.

The Kyegegwa District Police Commander Benson Byabakama has identified the deceased as Sadrack Webale and Grace Matovu who wedded on Saturday at Bringing Hope to the family at Kaihura in Kyenjojo district perished at Migongwe trading center in Kyegegwa when a minibus Reg. No. UAZ 460 W rolled several times on the road around mid-day.

The couple was heading to Kampala to resume work.

He says the commuter taxi was heading to Kampala from Fort Portal and police attributed the accident to over speeding.

The police officer in charge of traffic in Kyegegwa district, Mr Issa Addu said the injured were rushed to Kyenjojo hospital and another in Kyegegwa health centre IV.

He said the driver who survived and is still at large was driving recklessly and lost control.
