The decision on whether or not Mulago Hospital can separate the conjoined twins is to be made mid this week.

The twins who are joined at the abdomen were born in Kabale to 24-year old Rosette Tusiime and transferred to Mulago last week.

Preliminary results from the scans and tests conducted last week revealed that the two share a liver.

The hospital’s Public Relations Officer Dan Kimosho says the doctors continue to examine the babies with focus on the heart and blood flow.

He says the doctors will come up with a comprehensive report by mid this week, on which the decision on whether or not to conduct the operation here will be based.
