Visiting president of the International Criminal Court (ICC)Judge Silvia Fernandez de Gurmendi has said that violence against humanity committed across the world is unacceptable and that the ICC will not leave perpetrators of such acts to go unpunished.

Ms Fernandez was this morning speaking during a meeting with over 500 victims of the Lord’s Resistance Army insurgency in Gulu district.

The ICC president noted that due to the intolerable crimes being committed globally, the ICC was created to investigate them and bring the perpetuators to face justice.

She has asked the victims to continue trusting the ICC judicial system despite the delays in delivering justice adding that she and everyone working at the court are fully committed to ensuring fair trial and justice is served.
