NRM Caucus Meets Today

The ruling National Resistance Movement caucus meets today to elect representatives to different fora in Parliament.

One of the hotly contested for seats are on the Parliamentary Commission, which has four available seats for backbench members and one seat is reserved for a female MP.

Over 10 MPs from the NRM are vying for the positions, among them former Commissioner and Ajuri Conty MP, Denis Hamson Obua; Kinkizi East MP, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi; Bunyole MP, Emmanuel Ddombo and Rose Akol.

The opposition already appointed Kasilo MP, Elijah Okupa to represent them on the Commission.

The caucus will also elect representatives to the Pan African Parliament.

Ssembabule Woman MP, Hanifa Kawooya and Budaka Woman MP, Ndoboli Kataike are among the legislators already lobbying for the seats
