Doctors at Nakasero Hospital have said that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Treasurer, Rose Namayanja Nsereko, is out of danger.
Namayanja was earlier today involved in a road accident at Kigogwa Trading Centre, Kampala-Nakaseke Rd and was admitted at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
Led by Dr. Ben Mbonye, the team says it was a serious accident but they are doing all they can to ensure all the victims are out of danger.
According to the NRM Secretariat Communications Officer, Rogers Mulindwa, also involved in the accident are Namayanja’s bodyguard Richard Kyazze, her mother Catherine Namirembe and the driver, Isma Ssebunya.
Mulindwa says Namayanja was on her way to Kasangombe Sub-county in Nakaseke District to attend a ground-breaking ceremony for a new Health Centre III.
Namayanja’s brother Samuel Bbale who was traveling with her at the time of the accident said the accident involved a commercial cyclist, a truck loaded with sand the Namayanja’s Land Cruiser.

He says the Land Cruiser collided head-on with an on-coming truck whose driver was trying to avoid knocking a cyclist.

Bbale adds that Namayanya has survived with a fractured leg and minor injury on the left arm but their mother has sustained serious injuries.
