The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) is in the process of introducing a product which will allow members of the informal sector to save their money with the Fund.

Currently there is no law which allows the Fund to collect remittances from the informal sector.

The NSSF Managing Director, Mr. Richard Byarugaba says as they wait for parliament to enact an enabling law, the Fund intends to  come up with a product that will cater for this part of the population.

He says the beneficiaries will be required to use their mobile phones to send savings to the Fund.
