Nurses protest

The Uganda Nurses’ association has used the international nurse’s day to highlight the plight of nurses.

Irene Kaboli, the national chairperson of the association cites poor pay and housing among other issues.

The day is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.

The International Council of Nurses commemorates this important day each year with the production and distribution of the International Nurses’ Day (IND) Kit.

The IND Kit 2014 contains educational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere.

The day is being celebrated under the theme: Nurses: A Force for Change – A vital resource for health
