Families and communities have been challenged play a more active role in the education of their children.

The challenge has been made by the secretary general of AVSI Foundation Uganda Giampaolo Silvestri during a dialogue on “the quality of education: the role of the family and the community.”

Giampaolo says parents should not only end at paying school fees for their children but follow up to establish what the schools their children attend teach and engage with the teachers.

She says this will help boost the quality of education offered.
