The Parliamentary Committee on Trade has started getting views on the most rational way of reviving the national carrier.

According to the committee chairman Kenneth Lubogo, they are considering the idea of acquiring aircrafts on lease other than buying brand new aircrafts.

He said that they are still exploring the possibility of getting few aircrafts at the lowest cost and the government will gradually buy its own.

In June last year, President Museveni directed the ministry of works and transport  to conclude discussions with investors to help Uganda start a national airline as a matter of urgency, saying Ugandan travelers were being exploited by foreign airlines.
