Plant five trees on every happy occasion – Kadaga

David Kugonza | May 15, 2017

By Opio Sam Caleb.

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has launched a 60,000 tree planting campaign asking the public to use happy occasions to plant at least five trees.

The Labor of Love and Passion for Nature Campaign to preserve and protect the environment according to Kadaga is a re-invigoration of Kakungulu times where trees were planted along the roads.

She emphasized that for traditional marriages and weddings 15 trees should be planted 5 at the bride’s home, 5 at the bridegroom’s home and 5 where the couple is going to stay as part of the wood lot and environment protection and preservation campaign.
