Primary seven candidates are slated to sit for their primary leaving examinations today across the country.

According to the Uganda National Examination Board, the candidates will start with mathematics this morning and social studies in the afternoon.

Pupils are slated to finish their exams tomorrow with integrated science in the morning and English in the afternoon.

The Executive Director of UNEB, Daniel Odongo expressed readiness to conduct the exams, saying that the distribution of examination materials was conducted yesterday alongside deployment of all examinations officers to examination centres.

A total of 832,810 candidates, out of which 432,618 female and 400,192 males are expected to sit for this year’s PLE from 14,153 examination centers. 61 of these candidates are inmates from upper prison schools while 2,316 are pupils with special needs.
