Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Matia Kasaija has castigated poor security operations by Uganda police force saying their actions is one of the many factors leading to decline of shilling against dollar.

Kasaija says the declining shilling against the dollar is a result of police’s too much involvement in importing many goods to the country including teargas for police than we export.

Kasaija says police operations must be done carefully, adding that teargas must be the last thing they should use in the forthcoming elections of 2016 because it makes people unproductive.

Kasaija made the remarks while presenting at the 2nd regional accountability forum for Teso sub region in Soroti.
