Police sorrounds Besigye

The police are heavily deployed at Kabale University ahead of a planned opposition rally.

This was one of the rallies organized by opposition leaders and members of the civil society in their move to sensitize Ugandans on the need for free and fair elections.

One of the activists retired Bishop Zac Niringiye says police have continued to block their peaceful rallies even after giving prior notice.

Bishop Niringiye however says that they will not be deterred by police interference.

Earlier today the police spokesperson Judith Nabakoba denied the allegations and instead accused the opposition of contravening the Public Order Management Act.
