The Buganda kingdom premier Charles Peter Mayiga has rallied the youth to remain vigilant and reawaken the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Launching activities ahead of Kabaka’s birthday on April 13th, Mayiga says the youth have a big role to play in the fight against HIV adding that it is for this reason they have made it the theme for this year’s Kabaka 66th birthday celebrations.

He says some of the highlights to celebrate Kabaka’s birthday shall include Kabaka’s birthday, which he has not cleared on how it will be carried out due to covid19 pandemic among others.

A five member committee consisted of Owek.Prosperous Nankindu Kavuma as the chairperson, Owek. Hamis Kakomo as the deputy, Josephine Nantege as the secretary, Richard Kabanda and Baker ssejjengo will help organise all activities prior to the D-day.

UNAIDS has since appointed the kabaka Ronald muwenda Mutebi II as its goodwill ambassador in the fight against HIV in central  and East Africa.
