President asked not to sign HIV control bill into law

The Uganda AIDS Commission has asked the asking President not to sign the HIV/Aids Control and Management Bill.

According to the Chairman Uganda AIDS Commission Professor Vinand Nantulya the past three years have seen a significant drop in new HIV infections and number of children born with HIV.

He says signing the bill into law will prevent people from testing for HIV since they can only be convicted if they are aware of their HIV status.
