The teacher’s quest for salary increment still continues.

A day after the president said teachers pay rise was not among the government priorities, the leaders are now set to meet him this afternoon.

The Uganda National Teachers’ Union is expected to meet president Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe to further discuss their remuneration.

UNATU general secretary James Tweheyo says they are hopeful that the president will withdraw the statements he made yesterday during the Independence Day celebrations in Rungiri district.

The teachers are pushing for 20% salary increment promised earlier by government.
