President Museveni Warns Basoga Against Land Fragmentation

Reporter | April 13, 2017

By Benjamin Jumbe

President Yoweri Museveni has asked local and political leaders in Busoga to sensitize the people against land fragmentation saying it threatens food security and is a source of poverty.

While meeting the leaders in Kityerera, Mayuge district, the president said the biggest challenge facing Ugandan agriculture today is land fragmentation associated with the traditional inheritance practices and polygamy.

He warned that if not well addressed, land fragmentation can be a source of poverty.

The president has thus promised to ensure that all the 4000 homesteads in that village are liberated from poverty.
