A section of head teachers in Buvuma District are worried that some students and pupils may miss out on the ongoing mass enrollment since many parents many have not yet acquired National Identity Cards.
Government is currently registering all children aged five to 16 years to capture data for the national register and enable children acquire national identity cards.
The exercise, which require parents to present their national IDs and other particulars , is conducted at schools and will end on August 30.
But Mr John Kalubeya ,the head teacher in Buikwe District says even though the exercise kicked off a month ago , many children have not been registered.
Buvuma District Resident Commissioner, Lillian Nakaweesi said her office has already received similar complaints and promised to talk to officials at the National Identification Registration Authority (NIRA) to ensure that they swiftly issue IDs to people on the Islands.
